Yesterday was spent planting the bulbs and plants around the new red Oak the town came to plant. Later in the day time was spent on apllique.
Both of these sections next to the center is done, next will be the flowers that go between the leaves.
Will sew the pieces together by machine and turn it onside out. Normally use a piece of muslin cut on the bias, decided to use light weight interfacing this time. Many years ago l figured out one could do applique like this for these intricate flowers. The pieces are trimmed with a pair of pinking shears, making the curves more round once one turn them inside out.
The tree came alive and green. It has two stakes to keep it stable for when we get crazy wind gusts.
We have a red oak. We planted it when our younger was a baby. It's now about 40 ft tall. They get to be big trees.
