Shooting Stars.

The next kit is made from the pattern, Shooting Stars. It is all cut out and the prep for the flying geese is done.
The four patch blocks are done, the flying geese have one side added, the sashing strips have squares sewn on to one side too.
The colour wash top has three rows sewn. Both got some work yesterday when it got too hot outside. We are expecting 30C today and even warmer this weekend. The garden will see me again this morning, the lawn has grown like crazy and the dandelions have sprouted overnight.
The sage and green blocks for the RSC22 colour challenge for the month of May is completed.

Some more progress.

The tulips and the daffodils are all blooming now. We are enjoying spring and the warmer weather.
The book from which the one quilt pattern come from.
It is filled with patterns made from spring floral fabrics.
The fabrics are all cut out now and are ready for the next step.
Following the layout and looking at the photo of the quilt, it has 36 different floral print fabrics. It can be quite a dizzy experience, sorting all the fabrics and doing the layout. Manage to get all the rows done, except the last three.

Spring has arrived.

Sewing has taken a back seat, the sunny warmer weather has arrived with not a snowflake in sight. Gardening is top of the list and time spent outside has been just what we needed.
The seeds are all sprouting, the beefsteak tomatoes are planted with basil and some pepper plants. The mix of flower bulbs have all grown well so far and have buds on, some have opened others are still taking their time.
These tulips are more red than pink, it is always a wait and see what blooms. In the sewing room activity has come to a standstill.
A gift arrived early in the morning from my friend Kate. she makes the most amazing bags and her attention to detail and workmanship is top notch. It is perfect and goes with everything that I wear.
Inside the bag she added pockets, with secret and surprise fabrics, magnetic snaps, a designated keeper of the keys and a monogram zipper pull on the bag. Thank You, Kate!
My sisters both requested quilts, the one younger than me wanted these colours. Yesterday it was cut out. It will be a bargello quilt. My older sister has not told me what colours she wants yet.
Diane bought these books and quilt kits a few years back, she called last week and said these needed a new home. After looking at them, the tops will be sewn and donated once they are finished. Will be cutting them out soon, they will work well as enders and leaders.

More scrappy nine patch blocks.

The nine patch blocks have now been sewn, the total is 55 so far just from leftover Bargello squares.
Amazing how fast they came together. They are now ready to be packed away until more squares are cut and others are found.
The green hat started to unravel, it had three drop stitches. It has been ripped out and a fresh start will be made again. Knitting is not my strong point, still try and practice it.
Made some templates for some lollipop blocks.
These fat eight pieces will be used to create the lollipops with. Something fun and happy.
