Remember those quilt panel’s?

They got quilted and turned into some project bags.
This allowed me to use up almost all of the iron on batting scraps, just a small bit left. Fabric bought for a quilt, included fat quarters, half meter cuts and yardage about five meters of fabric, the pattern for the quilt was just not happening no matter how many times it was pulled out to be started.
Next the fat-quarters was sewn into rectangle frames (see previous blog post on how to make these frames).
The quilted rectangles was trimmed to fit inside the frames.
Placemats would be a great way to use these frames as well.
The plan all along was to create project bags, having made the vinyl zipper layers already they needed to be added to the quilted rectangles. A line about a half inch from the top was drawn on the quilted piece.
The top of the vinyl zipper pieces was placed here. Pinned and clamped in place to be sewn together.
Next these pieces was popped into the frames, to be stitched all along the flange in the ditch.
The end result is this.
From the front and back.
