Quilt panel.
Quilt panels end up many a times in baby quilts, for good reason. They are utility items that are used a lot and washed often. However one can use them in very many creative ways. Making covers for sewing machines, placemats, book covers and bags.
Many years ago these panels, two of them was bought for the use of applique. It was just not right to just cut them into little bits of fabric pieces. So back into the cupboard they went.
While making the project bags recently, a friend gave me a piece of vinyl. Never entertained the idea of sewing with it. However the thoughts and possibilities blossomed over the course of a few days, now all of it will be used including the border strips, without cutting all of it into small bits and pieces.
It is now all cut into multi projects: which include an applique roll, applique binder for large blocks, stitching bags and vinyl project bags. All in all this will hopefully help to keep things smooth and together. This will make it easier to transport the works in progress to where I am around the house, garden or even when we go on adventures.
