Sailing and the ocean waves.

Over the course of the past week, the feed dogs on my sewing machine which is almost twenty four years old was dropped and freemotion quilting happened on the large baby quilt.
Growing up we use to see the Southern right whales off the coast of South Africa, they are amazing mamals and it was always a surprise when they appeared where we would least expect them to do so. We once sat on the old harbour wall in Hermanus eating fish and chips and they came to greet us, they were a few meters away and we could almost touch them!
This quilt needs to be trimmed and the binding and label added to the back, will get to that this coming week.
Today will be relaxing and continue to work on my next applique block. We woke up to snow flakes drifting down from grey skies. Some hand quilting may happen later on my Bonnie Hunter quilt which is in the hoop at the moment, perfect weather for it.
