Baltimore style quilts.

Many years ago I read an article on the lack of surviving Baltimore style quilts.  This one has been used daily for sixteen and a half years. It is showing its age, it has come back for repairs, a wash and then it will officially go into retirement.  They do not last as the recipients love them and use them, so that is why none have been found in this modern day and age.
In the scrap fabric , I found some of the original fabrics used to make this quilt. Will be able to replace pieces, patch and mend where it can be done. The French would make another top and sew it over the worn top and quilt it down. Many an old quilt  that have had the new top removed have shown the older top underneath, making history of fabric interesting and a novel way preserve older fabrics. This is how many French General fabrics have been reproduced in the modern day for us to enjoy fabric designs again.
Some parts will be easier to fix than others.
The most interesting one will be this one below, any suggestions?

  1. How lovely! On the applique repair, could you maybe applique a heart inside the wreath that covers all of the damage.
