Quilting and appliqué continue.

The otter quilt is getting a bit more quilting every day.
This is the back, showing the blocking before the outline of the elements.
Quilting around some parts and removing as many of the pins as possible. Anchoring down the piece in equal parts, grass and the sky. The pond, rocks above and below the water. It helps with the quilting to keep the layers from moving about.
The true background colour is a beautiful purple, yet on some photographs it shows a washed out grey colour. Above is the applique pices fused and then blanket stitched by machine in place. This is part of the top and bottom pieces which will need to be added to the center applique panel. Before this can happen the name, date and the bees needs to be added. Next week we have another heatwave, so we will enjoy the weekend with the more balanced weather without the extreme heat.
