Winter.
Winter is here, it is cold, snowy, rainy, icy and super windy. Sitting indoors is only a small option, we have to go out to run errands and so much more. Walking with icers on our boots helps us to not slip on the ice!
Monday while waiting at an appointment, some knitting got done. February RSC25 colour is blue, so perfect for this sock.
Mystery quilts is the stash busting effort for this year, one blue one and one scrappy one. Need to add a dark blue for the blue one. All the other scraps are in a rubbermaid, larger leftover pieces from Bargello quilts over the years.
The oops (made it the wrong size for Old Town Mystery) blocks with the green square in a square, the flying geese trimmed pieces was used to create triangle squares. Also had too many squares for the four patch units. What to do with them? Played a bit and then created two block units. They need to be assembled, before they can be sewn into a new design.
More hand quilting has happened on the quilt currently in the hoop.
A belated Christmas present arrived in the mail this past week.

So many wonderful projects on the go Maggie!
ReplyDeleteAre you sewing the Scrapdash quilt on Super Bowl Sunday - it's next week!?!
No, but I am going to do Cory Yoder 2025 Mystery quilt along with those scraps. The blue one is on the Cape of Good Hope Quilters website. Superbowl mystery?
DeleteYikes! I live in the southwestern part of the U.S., so I’ve never heard of icers on boots, but I’m glad you are able to use something to be safe in the snow! Your snow-people are precious! Love how you framed them. Such pretty yarn! Looks like you’re well on your way to stash busting for sure! How pretty is that bunny and her fabric! Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteI made that same snowman cross stitch several years ago! Nice fabric bundle! Lots of pieces in your new quilting project. Sew on! Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteThose blue pieces are so pretty! I bet they will be a pleasure to sew with. Enjoy all your projects!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid, that if I lived in your little corner of the world, I would ever so slightly inch open the door, to see the state of the appalling weather conditions outside and go back to bed, waking up only when Lady Spring is knocking softly. It's a darn shame that the mundaneness of life's 'must dos' has to be seen to. I must say though those gorgeous greens and purples brighten the darkest of days. Don't they dance together beautifully?? Ahh....Peter Rabbit and his band of happy friends. What's not to love about Peter Rabbit?? Those fabrics are dreamy. Stay warm and when outside....stay upright. Dear me, if I lived there I would always be spread angled in a most unflattering fashion on the ice. Enjoy knitting with that pretty wool.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, I love the rabbit!
