Falling leaves.
The leaves are fluttering from the trees with ease and grace. Following one after the other, with no worries or any reason to hurry until they land gently on the ground or lawn. Some with a swirl and others with a blustery tail wind. Waking up to frosty mornings, saying goodbye to birds. One day they come looking for food, the next we are greeted with a quiet silence. They left and flew south, the remaining birds come with a song and we enjoy their company knowing we will see each other until spring arrives when the cold winter is done yet again.
All twenty fabric strips have been sewn into tubes. A total of nine sets, this is for my youngest sister's Bargello quilt. It has quite a few strips of green in it. They are now ready to be cut into strips to use for making each of the rows of the pattern.
Diamond number five for Tahoe is also done.
The layout so far for the diamonds. The diamonds is sewn into larger diamonds, four in each larger diamond. It can be sewn at the end, instead it is being done after each group of four diamonds. This makes the final assembly more seamless, it is a challenge.
Jeopardy quilting so far, have started the next round after the center. Just around the applique shapes, back ground cross hatching and in the ditch quilting. Keeping it simple, the rubbermaid has another five quilt tops that need to be quilted, excluding the one on the frame, which has not been touched for a while. The quilting thread on that one has not been a good match, so it needs a change.
Kate Selene has started a bauble knit along. So with some leftover bits of yarn, I made a Christmas pudding without a diagram. Next it will be a pair of mittens, something which I have been wanting to try for a while.

Tahoe is a beautiful design! Love all that pretty purple. You have some fun projects going on!
ReplyDeleteSo impressed with your projects! That Diamond piece looks really challenging! I love that you made the Christmas pudding without a diagram! Wow! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, the projects have a way of finding us. Tahoe was on the list from when I saw the pattern, except it was done in blues and creams. No matter how hard I tried to find those colours it just did not work. Roll forward another couple of months, my eldest sister asked for a quilt in pink and purple? Then it was like magic, the fabrics and colours just worked. So glad all the fabrics was starched, it has many edges with bias, Maggie.
DeleteLooking forward to seeing your sister's Bargello come together, Maggie!
ReplyDeleteGreen is my favorite color. The green fabrics you have picked for the bargello quilt are fantastic. Your sister is lucky. I LOVE the Jeopardy quilt. The stitching is perfect. Don't worry about that Rubbermaid container filling up. Winter is coming. You'll have plenty to do. Enjoy your stitching. ~~ Kathy S.
