Lots of quilts had a combination of pieced and applique elements.

Bling and sparkle was evident on a number of quilts, which made us wonder if they had a special challenge as part of the competition?

Metallic threads was used, to create sparkle.

This Quilt is very much a unique one, which quilters in South Africa make.

It was embellished with beads, textured with threads and all sorts of interesting bits and bobs attached in some very creative places and ways.
