Quilt Canada 2016.

The Quilt Show started today.  We went early and had an amazing time.  Seeing everything through new eyes, as  I had the pleasure to go with a new Quilter.
Tamara Kate, here the colours had just the right balance of modern.
Meerkat Trading, Shweshwe from South Africa!  This one is in a yellow, they had even purple, orange and the traditional Blue, Red and Brown.  It was rare find to discover they had the skirt panels.  As stiff as this fabric is before washing, it becomes super soft after washing.  Stop by their booth just to touch the fabric and smell it.  You will never find anything like it ever again.
This is a store with fresh and happy fabrics.

Pastime pieces had some great kids growth wallhangings and wool kits.
It was a vibrant purple, Laurel Birch comes to mind.... The most quirky find at the show.
Steve here had a purple Singer Featherweight sewing machine, this one is for Kate!

One of the many booths had this quilt.

Fancy going on a quilting trip?
 Kitty going to Camp?
Remember this quilt with the animals with all those shoes?  This pattern above is from the same designer. Harebrained Happenings.
At Border Creek Station, the quilts could all come home with us.  They were all quilted by Mill Creek Quilting.

Then we spotted a hexie project in progress.
The Mini Quilt Kits.
Tomorrow, the blog will feature winning quilts and more.
We also popped into the Modern Quilt room, which was very interesting.

  1. Love the Featherweight.
They let you take pictures of the winning quilts? They never used to.

  2. What was the name of the pattern or store with the appliquéd quilt using Kaffe Fassett fabrics? (10th picture, one after purple featherweight).
