Seasons change.

On one of my recent walks I saw this beautful tree. The leaves are all falling down at great speed and whispers of snow flakes flying is becoming more and more noticeable.
I have been missing from blogging world for a bit, catching up on getting the house and garden all ready for winter. It was a very busy summer with me learning to longarm quilt. Took the car for a wash, winter tyres are on the car. We are migrating indoors for the winter.
Bought some fabric to make a warm coat, my sewing machine did not like the fibers in the woven fabric. I decided to pull out some perle cotton and sew it with that, the outer shell. The outer shell is done, the lining is luckily not an issue and it could be sewn by machine in a few hours.
A bit more work to do on the coat, not rushing the process.
Worked on a zipper pouch, to hold very specific tools for my machine all together in one place. For years now I wanted to create a pouch for said tools, now they will be together.
Made a start on Amsterdam on the canal, house number one.
Sunset on our walk.

  1. I love the colorful tree we have some color here but not a lot - soon though there will be - next week will be quite chilly and getting into the 30's at night which has not happened yet this fall.

  3. The Amsterdam quilt looks like a lot of work, so many tiny pieces. It will be a gorgeous quilt. Love your little pouch, very handy to hold tools for a sewing machine. Beautiful tree in fall colors.

  5. Life is a journey of growth, and the reflections shared on simoneknego.com remind us that Seasons Change—both externally and within ourselves. Each season brings its own challenges, lessons, and opportunities for personal development. Just as nature moves through cycles, we too experience periods of growth, reflection, and renewal. Accepting the ebb and flow of life allows us to embrace change with grace, resilience, and patience. When seasons change, it is a reminder to slow down, reflect, and align our actions with values and purpose. Moments of difficulty can cultivate strength, while times of abundance encourage gratitude and clarity. By understanding that change is natural, we release the pressure to control outcomes and instead focus on intentional living. Reflection, faith, and self-awareness become guiding principles that help navigate transitions with calm and perspective.
