A new year.
A first for me. When hubby decided to buy some fabric, he saw some fabric panels displayed in the window of the quilt shop. This was one of the pieces he choose.
My choice was a quilt kit and one piece of fabric. He chose quite a few, much more than I did. This has never happened before.
He wants to use them as wall art quilted pieces for his study and office.
A piece of fabric with Loons on it was also part of the fabric he choose. Never a dull moment when we go to a quilt shop. Especially when they have thread too. The things he finds for fly tying is truly amazing.

A Merry Christmas.
Just a few more days to go, Christmas day is almost here. We try to relax more, the closer we get to Christmas day. It is less stressful and better for us. Over the weekend we went to the cinema and watched a movie. It was something we have not done in a very long time.
While Kate and I chatted last week, a pair of socks was cast on. It will take a long while to do,
maybe by Christmas next year it will be finished.
Some hand quilting happened last week. No rush, just another slow start.
Bonnie Hunter mystery part five is cut out and needs to get sewn, this morning she did a surprise release of part six. I discovered that the red(pink) in my colour way needs to be added to. So my stash will be searched today for something close in value.
Also need some extra light, there is one fabric that may work. Discovered part five the center squares was cut the wrong size, have to cut the squares the correct size and will be remaking these.
Normally we cook traditional South African sausage (Boerewors) and everyone has those on rolls with salad. This year life is just on a different timeline, it happened last night! We had a lot of snow
here yesterday and overnight, it is a white Christmas. Made the pastry and the mince pie filling, it has been resting in the fridge. It will be baked today, the whole house will be smelling like Christmas with oranges, fruit and spices. Doing most of the prep today, to free up tomorrow. Christmas day will be a relaxing one.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
