February Pinks.

The blocks are done and these Ohio stars up to now, have 22 block so far.
Sawtooth blocks have 9 done so far.
Finished the blocks for Finding the way as well.
The Mystery quilt, aka the Jeopardy quilt is finished. Found the pattern, had all the parts still after all these years. Moving house a few times, countries and continents. It appeared in McCalls Quilting magazine in 2007 over the course of a year: "Hearts-All-A-Flutter" designed by Gerri Robinson.
The original was done in sweet colours, mine was done with French General fabrics.
Hand quilted while watching Jeopardy, started in September last year finished it yesterday.
It has been washed and the bamboo batting shrunk quite a bit. It is now 90 by 85 inches, instead of the 95 by 90 inches. It was pieced with fusible applique by machine stitched with a blanket stitch and hand quilted. This quilt was done in small bits over many many years, the journey was a slow one and enjoyed every step along the way.

  3. I love the butterfly in the middle. Like all good reds, it is better with aging. Though maybe that is just wine. :)

  7. ... And the answer is - Jeopardy. The question - what quilt took 16 years from start to finish? Well worth the time and effort.

    1. We enjoy watching Jeopardy, I will baste the next quilt as soon as the batting arrives. Then it will be quilted with an half an hour of Jeopardy in the evenings, amazing how just that little bit gets the quilt to the finish line. It is not fancy quilting, some stitches are bigger than others, but it is the journey of a needle and thread to create a quilt.

  8. I also have a quilt which I've started quilting by hand. I feel I don't have enough time to do it justice - changed my mind when I read that you've only spent half hours here and there (no idea what Jeopardy is- not in UK). I'm going to get on with it I reckon I can manage 30mins each day. Thanks for sharing, the quilt looks lovely, French General always looks so classy.

    1. We are in Canada and Jeopardy is a game show with many categories for many subjects. They answer questions and the one with the most money wins and goes on to play the next day, until someone else wins and they lose. It had one host for decades, Alex Trabec? He died sadly last year. They now have two hosts, one a previous winner of many games and an actor who played Sheldon’s girlfriend on the Bing Bang Theory. It gets very competitive and we had a young Canadian woman last year who had al of us on the edge of our seats.
