First ever pumpkin pie. We grew one butternut squash over the summer. Finally cooked it as part of the roast chicken dinner. The rest of the pumpkin was used for the filling of this pie. It was a pleasant surprise, light and airy. The garden is finally done after seven years, it feels great knowing in spring we can plant seeds and enjoy watching everything blossom and grow.
The green house is working so far, the plants are alive.
The veggie garden has been top up with manure, peat and extra soil. Every raised bed was dug over and can now rest for the winter.
Our maple tree is doing well, the leaves is still on it. The last few days things on the list got done, including winter tyres. Tomorrow sewing room will be where time will be spent.
Baked Apple pie with a crumble topping.
does your apple pie have a crumb crust on the bottom too? it looks delicious - you have never made a pumpkin pie? is it not as traditional for all of you like it is us I wonder - but then my family loves pumpkin pie and mainly we just have it at Thanksgiving but now and then I will make it more like pumpkin bars instead of shaped like a pie at other times of the year. Your garden is looking really good - now all the hard work is done!!
