Kids and Traditions.

Every year, our kids make us cards.  For Birthday's, Mother's Day and Father's Day.  This year was no exception.  They remember humorous things which have happen over the years and incorporate those in their cards.  Be it a reference or an artwork.  These cards I treasure the most.  I reflect on how lucky we are, as some families this past week, have lost everything in the wildfires in Fort McMurray, in Alberta.  As one Mother to another, we send you all our Love.  Is there any Quilter's  who is making quilts for the families who have lost everything, please let me know.  I will gladly post, your request on the CheerfulChickadee!

Instead of a bunch of flowers, a planter instead.

On our walk this morning, the level of the water is right down.

Love Entwined, found some more treasures.

 The pop of colour, which will be used very sparingly, is this purple.

Too find the right fabric for my shapes, they are traced on some clear template plastic and carried in a little book with me.  Stumbled across this fabric, for the angels.   It almost looks like a three leaved clover.

Quilting Fun.

Spending time with friends, who enjoy quilting and having a great time, is the best.  Getting away and going to Retreat, sewing up a storm and creating new masterpieces, be it to become family heirlooms or to be given away to someone special.  This weekend was no exception.

This bag, was one marathon of a task.  Kate created it, it is amazing.  The inside was done with pockets, the bag is for a very special person, close to her heart.

Quilty's, these are turned into gifts for Mothers of Premmie babies.  They are given these in hospital.

 Churn dash pinwheel blocks with pink and lilac.

 A border print with happy frogs.

 The pink colour, was the one that was most used this time.  It is totally unplanned.  Once we all arrive and start to work on our projects, a colour emerge as the one.  Pink reigned queen, this spring, at retreat!

Victoria Quilts, is another one, for which quilts are stitched, these get lined with flannel. They are for cancer patients.  Judy made these.

Catherine got us all making these nifty zipper pouches.  They are a very good way to start off the weekend sewing.  Most of us finished two of them.

Met this cutie, while I went for a brisk walk after supper.  The weather was beautiful, summer is on its way, as the bugs was out in full force!

Kate also introduced us to these clips. They work well instead of pins, when one want to sew a zipper in place, doing binding.  The funny thing is, we have all seen them in the Quiltshop, we just was not too sure of these clips.

Baby quilts was also on the agenda.

While walking along the stream, we saw some of the Salmon which have come up stream to spawn.

 Kids had a PD day last week, they tried to catch these big guys, but the fish was not interested.

 The Blue Heron is very good at fishing.  Once he takes his portion, he leaves the rest for others to have their feast.
