Over the last year, Marguerite and myself have chatted about sharing a craft space for our respective crafts. She weave the most tactile soft fabrics. She creates different textures and patterns, with a variety of yarns, from linen, wool and some very unusual things. She spin yarn as well, which is used to create her creations. Needless to say, she will surprise me time again, just when I think the wheel cannot be reinvented again.
Our collective love of fiber arts and crafts continue to inspire us. We are blessed to be surrounded by friends who are all inspirational with their own special creative fields, from knitting whisper thin candy floss lace shawls with over a thousand beads worked into a work of art. Spending hours making a master piece in the process, Kate enjoys the challenge and is not daunted by the scale or the difficulty level, it is one of her passions. We can only marvel at each others creative fields and projects.
Diane stitches intricate pieces. Antique Samplers are very popular at the moment, requiring many hours of dedication to complete these amazing stitched pieces. Jane Bannister is one of them.
As for just how diverse we are, mine includes smocking, quilting and dabbling in a variety of arts and crafts.
Recently we decided to take the plunge and will soon be sharing our crafts together at a local artisan shop. So from time to time items will be shared on the blog, before going to market. All to create local and supporting local. When one want something truly handmade and unique.
