Where is spring.
Spring seems to be playing hide and seek. One minute the sun is shining, the snow was just about melted in most parts and green grass was greeting us. Then all of a sudden we are met with blowing snow, rain, freezing rain and wind. Hopefully winter will receive the memo, it is spring now!
Border fabrics for the Bargello quilt, will include some of these ones.
Quilting threads ready and waiting. The backing fabric has issues, so that will need to be replaced.
On a happier note, some fat quarters arrived in the mail.
It also included information on Quilt Canada.
So for anyone interested, here is some more information.
The parcel contained all of these fat quarters for Finding the way.
A rainbow of colours to add to these ones.

Jewel tone quilt.
These fabrics have gone from this, to be washed and ironed.
To being cut into strips. These got pinned into pairs and sewn together over the weekend, two more pairs need to be sewn.
The weather was cold and it was blustery with every kind of weather, so staying indoors was best.
Made a list of the colours.
Strips assembled so far, it was International Quilt weekend. Lots of beautiful quilts displayed all over.

Stars in March.
The snowbank is still more than waist high on our lawn, more snow coming. The Blue jays have arrived to ask for peanuts, the rest of the birds are arriving in flocks. Heralding the start of Spring. Seeds are waiting to be planted, forgot to put my pots in the garage. They are currently covered with snow. Once they emerge from the snow, they will be used to plant seeds indoors.
Ancient star blocks started, with triangle squares sewn, next sewing them into hour glass blocks for the Ohio Star blocks and trimming the smaller ones for making the Sawtooth Star blocks. This all happened this past week and is now ready to square the blocks.
Tahoe diamond set number fourteen.

A bundle of greens.
The last two green fabrics arrived, in the mail yesterday. Waited until everything was here, washed and ironed all the fabrics.
Stacks have been cut and these pieces have been prepped to cut with the AccuQuilt strip die. This will happen this morning.
Needed to cut one strip manually from each fabric, so that also got done in the afternoon.
These fabrics will be used to sew a bargello jewel tone wedding quilt, it will be the very first jewel tone quilt that I will sew.

A little bit more progress.
After last weeks snow we all ended up with a few pulled muscles. We forget as we grow older, that we are not as young as we think we are.
A friend has one of these, we have one now too. It works on both, on managing the pain without meds and relaxing the muscles. So we are still recovering and the next snow will be on the ground when we wake up in the morning.
This morning we went on a field trip, always a good idea in winter. The roads was clear, the sun was shining. Knew I wanted a piece of linen and some more needles.
On our return, the mail had arrived.
Still need to find two green fabrics. The lilac floral was shown as more mauve on some pictures, so it was a pleasant surprise when it arrived.

Greens.
A Texas Low came barrelling through last night, fast with lots of wind and snow. We woke up to this in the morning. The plough came during the night just to make a path on the road for cars to be able to drive on said road. Old winter has been active, after waking from his deep slumber long into winter. He is making up for lost time, by gifting us with lots and lots of snow.
A few green blocks have been sewn for RSC23 for the month of March.
Some strips for Ancient Stars have been cut as well.
A good thing this all happened before the snow shovelling.
Red one inch foundation triangle squares that was done in February got trimmed as well. As for the rest of the day, the plough game by and did a great job. The best part was it was the young woman who understands where to put the snow, she is amazing! We are all now relaxing and hope this was the last big storm with snow before spring arrives.
