Working on Indigo Way.
The pumpkin house has grown. The house has colour now, it still needs the bricks filled in with the alternative colour.
Finding the way paper piecing for the diamonds and the mariner compass blocks also have the first parts pinned, ready for sewing. Lately with so much good weather, the distraction to go for walks outdoors in the great weather not much sewing happens when I have planned to do it.
Indigo way has parts sewn and stacked in piles ready for trimming or adding more pieces to it. The stacks are prepped and when a moment presents itself, a stack is picked up and sewn together, while waiting for the bread to proof or bake.
The big bag of flour is almost finished, meaning this winter we baked bread a lot more than normal. Today is more of a housekeeping day, so need to get that done early as it is another beautiful day outside.

A busy week.
We got a nice long walk in with mild weather and some sunshine. It was just great to get outside and walk for an hour and a bit. We celebrated a family birthday and our wedding anniversary as well.
The Aurifil floss has been tested and it embroider beautifully, decided to test it first with French knots. This is a great test to see if the floss is a good contender for any projects, no thread snagging catching on any of the twists or turns. Also tried it doing a Bullion stitch, it passed the thread test with flying colours.
Love Entwinded got some extra dimension with details to this flower.
Hubby was travelling for work and he said is there anything you need? I definitely have been looking for a Tri Recs ruler set. So I checked with the local shop, Golden Quilt Shop, Colorado. They had a set and hubby popped in and picked it up for me. Thank you Nancy!
Practiced a bit on this piece of fabric. It makes the cutting of these pieces a breeze. Once you get going, it is difficult to stop. It is needed for the Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt, which was started last year in November. All these fabrics is from one quilter and I wanted to honour her by using it in one quilt. Have not started to sew the pieces yet, decided to wait until all the pieces was cut first. A parcel arrived with the floss and some goodies which was on back order from a few months ago. The floss for the pumkin house and a kit for celebrating our grand pets. It is perfect for celebrating the puppy and kitten.

Pumpkin house.
Another snowy day today, so quiet time will be spent with the family and our cat. For ten years she did not cuddle on laps, she changed her mind and is now making up for lost time. We cuddle and she allows me to stitch at the same time.
Working on house number one for Slow Stitching on Sunday. Nine houses in the set, they are much bigger than what they look on the picture on the pattern. Wondering how to finish them when they are done, some do pillows. Not sure yet, time will hopefully gift me with a finish solution.

A snow melt.
We have a warm up here, yesterday was a great day. After snow, ice pellets we had rain and lots of it. Everything got washed down with lots of rain and mild temperatures arrived. A long walk with peaks of sunshine just here and there. The creek is full and is flowing at a fast clip. RSC24 green for January has been fruitful and lots got done.
Applique has moved forward on Love Entwined with leaves and stems.
This is where some of these borders was at the start of January.
This part with all these leaves and stems was the most difficult and it was put off because it was just too daunting before.
Corner blocks just need berries and embroidery details.
Baskets need more stems and leaves for this whole round, which surrounds the center block.
This quilt is mostly applique and will be worked on each month, there is still lots to do on this one.
The green triangle squares for Finding the Way is done, they will all be squared in the next couple of days. The pumkin house stitching is slowly getting there too. Three floss colours is on their way, so those colours will be added once they arrive. Decided to work on less projects for now, to finish these ones first. The RSC24 colour challenge is perfect for getting projects back on track and to creating the things we want to, a great community.

A rainbow of colour.
Finding the way has been sorted into colour groups for all the months ahead. When a colour is called for each month, the pieces will be pulled out of the box and sewn. It makes everything so much more tidy and organised.
The greens that still need to be sewn for January.
A start was made on this project last year and all the pieces which was sewn is now with all their colour group friends.
A parcel arrived in the mail from my Kate, she sent me some beautiful floss and a niffty gadget for knitting. Head over to her blog to see her beautiful knitting and quilting at

Progress on RSC24.
Love Entwined has now grown, the green leaves and a few stems have been added.
This was rated the most difficult block of the quilt. It is repeated four times, it is incredible how tiny some of the leaves and stems are.
More pieces with the corner blocks, two still require stems and some more leaves. A few berries and flowers are needed on these two corner blocks as well.
It feels great to get this project moving again.

Extremely cold outside.
Overnight it was -29C outside. Needless to say it is not friendly out there. Winter is here with a blast, we've had a bit of snow and more expected again from tomorrow. Life goes on and we do have to venture out, for an array of things. All the normal things from getting groceries to appointments. With the cold comes thoughts of serious hibernation, bears do it and we can relate to why they would want to sleep through the whole cold weather season!
Finding the way was pulled out and the paper piecing of the diamond blocks and mariners compass blocks is now well under way.
Escape into a world of colour, the brighter the better for the weather we are currently having.
These pieces remind me of the Eiffel Tower. Dreaming of travelling to some warm places...
The pumkin house so far. It is slowly growing, still need to get a few more skeins of colours that I missed, so those are on the list.
