Baby steps.
Sunday slow stitching will continue on the pumkin house series. It will be my year long project for 2024, perfect for my pace of stitching.
Baby steps on these leaves. Four flowers with eight sets of four leaves to a branch, made a start on the first flower surrounded by the leaves.
Managed to get out for a walk, before the snow arrived this evening. Winter is here and the handquilting while watching a movie happened. The fire was on, the cat enjoy the heat and will try to get very close to said fire. She gets moved and she will then just cuddle in a lap. Our evenings follow this simple pattern, spending time together to relax and unwind from our days.

Green.
Applique for now is all about green leaves.
Many shapes and sizes. This year will be works in progress, also the RSC24 will be Finding the Way and Ancient Stars. Both got starts last year and this year each month a bit will get done on them.
Stitching has been started on the Pumkin House series.
Last year for my birthday I received a fat quarter bundle. This will be used to make a mystery quilt, one block a week. Another start will be made on Bonnie Hunters mystery quilt. A collection of scrappy fabrics has been left in a pile on the sewing table. How long has it been waiting in that spot? Since February 2023. When I got those fabrics, they came from one quilter, so to honour her they will be used together in one quilt. Today the final clue and reveal of Indigo Way was released, a few colours will be swapped out. The scraps contain no red, it has a very special dark fabric which will work for the pattern. With cold weather here, it will get ironed and then the cutting will start. Sewing will start of the blocks in the coming days.

A finish.
The stitch a long for December is finished. A week before Christmas I came down with Strep throat, it was very bad and it took me to the doctor and a bag of medications to get me back to healthy again. With the high fever and medication I somewhere along the line jumped a day ahead. I was telling the family when it was going to be Christmas eve and Christmas day, also what meals was going to happen when. They looked at each other then looked at me. Saturday evening while we were playing a boardgame, they decided to let me know that I had my caledar all muddled up. We were one day ahead, they thought it was really funny! This oops has had a positive change and created some new traditions. All which they want to continue in the future.
A few gifts that arrived under the tree that is all crafty related, it will be keeping me busy for a bit.
The Serengeti Chatelaine also progressed a bit more. All the stitching with beads, speciality stitches and braids will happen last once all the basic cross stitches has been stitched. Part one is almost stitched.
This year a new stitch-along has been started, it is nine houses: The first one is the pumkin house, using DMC on antique white evenweave.
Last year was a lot of piecing quilts, this year it is back to applique quilts. Pulled out an old work in progress, Love Entwined. Leaves pinned, they were prepped a long time ago ready to be sewn on now. A leaf at a time.
2024 has started with a new chapter to write and the journey to navigate each new day. We get to choose how we write our story, we choose to do so with love and peace. The human voice is a powerful instrument and we do not use it enough for the good in our world. Be kind both to yourself and everyone around you, it is the fastest way we change the world to be a better place for each and everone of us.
Happy New Year to each and everyone!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful time, filled with joyful laughter and happiness. Spending time with loved ones and friends, creating new memories. It is what we have in our hearts and what we send out into the world that is our most important message we have to give, we choose to give love and peace.

A few from a friend.
Diane decided to grow her Bargello wallhanging quilt into a large quilt, we worked out how much fabric she needed and this is the end result. It was longarm quilted by Sharron Leonard.
She has started another stitching project too.
A display at our local library.
