Machine washable and quilted. Making it easier for the new parents. Babies need durable clothing and bedding. 100 percent cotton works for us. Natural fibres is always a good choice. Back to the Christmas quilt for our eldest son and his wife...

Cats and the moon.
Our cat woke me up at 4h38am. She wanted me to see the lunar eclipse, it was spectacular. The moon was an orange red colour. I went outside to see it better and tried to get a photograph, but it was difficult to get the same image on the photo.
Yesterday saw me basting the kingzise Christmas quilt for our eldest son and his wife. That is done, the Quilt will be quilted by hand, so it will be what will be worked on from today.
There are 48 triangle square in the pile. Thinking of sewing them into a six by eight row block for a pillow case to send the quilt in?
The points from the star snowball corners was not discarded.

The second block for the baby quilt. There are six blocks of the stars and six of these. These will be sewn today, assembled and the baby quilt needs to arrive in time for her arrival.

A baby quilt.
All the pieces is cut out for the baby quilt, prepped and ready for sewing together. The binding will be the pink and white polka dot fabric.
This baby hat started unravelling, as I had dropped stitches and did not realized it. So it has been started again. Finished the king size quilt top yesterday, will make the binding and prep the batting. Have to join two piece together, before basting it.

It has been hectic.
This last while has been hectic, we put the outside lights up. Discovered decorating big trees to be easier than the house? After spending hours checking the lights on the driveway, making sure everything was in good working condition. Can one strand give up the ghost after the fact? It did, so the replacement is in the garage waiting for next year. Yesterday it started snowing with rain, this morning not much snow remain.
Saturday was spent sewing the Christmas quilt and the center is now finished. The borders and binding fabrics has been washed and ironed. The aim is to get those cut and sewn this week. Also working on the pink baby quilt above and the hat.

A little bit more..
At the beginning of the year, this was a box with just stacks of charms, now those stack has grown over time into strips of charms. Slowly but surely they are becoming a quilt top.
