Album of Memories quilt has the binding on, it needs some more quilting the majority is done. The binding on the Sugaridoo QAL quilt was finished during the week as well, great progress on these two quilts who was on the road to nowhere. Worked on the new quilt top. Large pinwheels.

Topsy turvy .
The world is topsy turvy, the weather is cool outside with potential snow expected next week. So looking around the sewing room another quilt top got started. This pattern followed me home after quilt Canada in 2016? These fabrics is leftovers from 365 Quilt Challenge by Katherine Kerr in Australia.
Diane has been stitching and finished. Coffee time. Ready for framing.

Spring flowers and some rain.
The large squares to make the triangle squares which creates the pinwheel blocks for the center are cut. Used the yardage that was leftovers from the 365 Quilt. Do not have enough so will have to get creative with what I have.
Marked the light blocks for stitching on either side of the lines to make the triangle square blocks.

Leaders and enders..
Yesterday was spent in the garden, top dressing the whole lawn and over seeding. It took most of the day, the weather was perfect for it with a nice temperate gentle breeze and sunshine. It needed to be done while it is still cool enough and just before the rainy spell for the next couple of days. Early spring is a good time to do this, after aeration of the grass. This is the leftover blues from 365 Quilt Challenge. Started a leader and enders triangle square box, while making that quilt with my blue collection.
The remaining blues are in these boxes. So this pattern will be used to create something more with the blues.

Gardening...
The rain stopped and the sun came out to play. So with the beautiful weather, the outdoors won. The lawn got aerated with the averaging garden tool. My leg muscles got a workout. Spent more time on the garden than anything else.
While it was raining in the morning, this bit of binding was sewn down. Did a little bit of stitching on March animals of the month, slowly easing back into the stitching.
Played with this to do some applique circles, it works well for these sizes. Back to the garden today to over seed and top dress before the next round of rain arrive later today. Have a wonderful day today.

One done.
It will get more quilting after the binding is sewn in place. Crazy to believe, but this quilt top was made with the leftover Thimbleberry fabrics from the Grandma's country album I and II.
Only had to buy a piece of black for the squares around the center, some red for the sashings and binding an a little bit of cream for the backgrounds.
The back. With the binding made with the fat eights from the bundle. Woke up to more spring rains this morning, perfect to sit and sew and quilt.

Down that rabbit hole...
The conversation started over the weekend, we all have a project every time we plan to work on it, something happens. There are two quilts, they have been quilted a bit, but enough for them to be finished. Yet every time I plan to work on them something prevents that from becoming a reality. Last month the idea was carry on machine quilting this one? My machine broke and was in the shop for three weeks. So, on the weekend the binding was made, stitched on by machine and being handstitched down.
Now why would that be the next step? Because (My English teacher would be telling me about now a sentence can not be started with this word.) It will be seen as done, freeing it to be quilted, reverse psychology in action.
Half way done while we were watching the golf on tv. Japan is celebrating today in a big way, congratulations to their man who won! With the rain here, this process will carry on until the binding is on. Then the other quilt will get the same treatment. Talk about going down a rabbit hole...
